This Sunday, On February 14th, is valentine's day. this day is celebrated all over the world. Valentine's day is derived from many different legends, the defiance of saint valentine, the feast of lupercus and the belief that it is the beginning of mating season for birds.

It's a day of celebrating romance and a time when people show their love and affection to one another . Many people go out to dinner with their spouse\partner or they will even shower them with gifts of flowers, heart shaped candies, cards, stuffed animals, and jewelry . The majority of people you see celebrating this holiday are all happy couples. But this can also lead a person who is not in a relationship, or going through a break up, or maybe even separated from their soulmate\twin flame to feel very sad, depressed, lonely, and even upset too.

But, it does not have to be this way, you can still enjoy yourself celebrating valentine's day even if you are single, separated or going through a break up. this holiday isn’t just for couples, it’s a wonderful time for you to show love to everyone in your life, the ones you love and appreciate- the ones that matter most. You can show love to your friends, siblings, kids, parents, neighbors, coworkers, pets and of course yourself! Here are a few tips to help you through this holiday.

Love Yourself

Since valentine's day is all about love, then it is a perfect time to do something for your own self. Loving yourself is so important. You cannot give out love to others properly or even receive love if you don't love yourself and put your own self first. You can also draw others away from you and seem unattractive too to people when you don't love yourself and have self respect.

Let go of the negative comments and rude remarks people may have said to you in the past. For valentine's day show yourself some love, you most definitely deserve it. To help improve self love here are some things you can do:

Try even splurging on your favorite foods, go to your favorite restaurant, or indulge a little on some valentine's day candy. Eat the foods you love and crave or even do something for yourself that your body will after thank you for like drinking a healthy green smoothie, they improve your health, give you tons of energy and can even help promote weight loss.

Try to go out and see a movie, or even just relax at home. Get a good dose of laughter and watch a comedy movie, having a good dose of laughter will always make you feel better. Another great thing you can even do for yourself is buy your own self a present, it doesn't have to be anything big or expensive but buy yourself something that you've always been wanting or if you want just go out shopping for yourself.

Help Out Your Community

Another great way spending valentine's day being single is to help your community out. try volunteering to help out at a homeless shelter. Seeing someone's face light up and making others happy from your small gesture will make you feel better and fill your heart with love.

Celebrate With Your Friends

If any of your friends are single on valentine's day, make a friends night out and go do something fun and exciting like go see a movie, play, concert, club, or even go bowling. Another fun thing you can do is host a single's party or make a special valentine's day dinner for your friends. Valentine's day is not just about having a partner or about being with your true love. It's about love in general and spreading that love to those that matter in your life most and to show them how grateful you are for having them in your life.

If you are unhappy about being single and want to change that, try going out to single events, join a dating site, or try to work on becoming the person your dream partner would fall in love with.
